Relay for Life

It is time again for the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. I have met so many great people through this event. It is a 24 hour event since cancer never sleeps. We are all there to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. One of my favorite parts of this event is the Luminaria Ceremony at sunset. These luminaries were for my Great Grandmother Mamie and my Great Aunt Kay.

My beautiful Great Grandmother.

End of the School Year

One of my son's school assignments was to make four thank you cards for his teachers for this year. He helped me do the stamping and also glueing the pieces together. These teachers are really great and we wanted to make them special cards.

Another fun project I did for the graduating preschoolers was a flower pot for the Teachers. One of the mothers found this great idea on Pinterest. Here is the original idea.

I smudged a little white on the black part to make it look like chalk and I cut a tag out with the Cricut and added lines to make it look like notebook paper. I had the students write their names on a piece of paper and I wrote them on the pots with paint marker in their handwriting. The A+ is painted with a glossy red acrylic. I had so much fun with these. This is how they turned out.

A Beautiful Lady

Remembering my Great Aunt Kay today, she passed away this morning. She was a very strong and beautiful woman and her family and friends will miss her so much.

First Attempts at Making Cards

The first card on the left I made before I received my first stamp sets. I loved the stamp that Natasha had of a thread border so I tried to recreate it with a marker. Couldn't wait for my stamps to arrive. I have a lot to learn!

Sewing is Rocket Science!

With a lot of help from my husband I was able to break out my old sewing machine and make these aprons. I fell in love with the ruffles in this pattern and I really wanted to give the cherished ladies in my life something special. Maybe this Christmas I can find a cute table runner idea to coordinate with them!

So Thankful!

This is a video scrapbook of our family camping trip last year right before Rick had to go to Afghanistan. He made it home today very early in the morning after a long journey and we are so very grateful that he is back safe with us! Thank you for all your support, your prayers and care packages. It meant so much.

You can click on the individual pictures in the scrapbook to see larger versions.

We told a nice lady that tends to the campsites that we would be back again, as a family!

I love the Fall

Last year at the local Pumpkin Patch, making the best of our time together before the deployment. So much fun!

The boys hard at work carving. I didn't get a picture with it lit up, but Rick came home just in time to see their skeleton pumpkin.

Learning How to Stamp

A couple of pages of a journal I put together for one of my closest friends. It brought me so much joy to learn more about her and her family and loved ones through entries and photos that were sent to me.
